overview

Document the quiet beauty of Vietnam’s shoreline communities, where the tide guides daily life and reveals compelling stories.

This 5-day photography tour is an immersive journey into the dynamic heart of Vietnam’s coastal and fishing culture. We trace the shoreline north, deliberately focusing on the daily lives and working traditions of the region.

You’ll explore a variety of rich environments—pre-dawn boat launches, the vibrant energy of sunrise fish markets, tranquil lagoon villages, and culturally rich artisan workshops—each with its own pace and visual language. The itinerary balances high-impact, dramatic locations with slower, intimate moments, always anchored in real, lived scenes.

Designed for photographers drawn to candid and documentary-style storytelling, this workshop emphasizes rhythm, timing, and light. Whether capturing fishermen casting nets at dawn, the chaos of market life, or the quiet patience of lagoon workers, each day brings opportunities to refine your vision while staying genuinely present to the world around you. Guided sessions, honest feedback, and a sustained focus on observation will help you build both technical skill and creative depth.

Morning

We begin before sunrise with a boat ride along the Thu Bon River. Fishermen work their square nets while the first light glows across the water, giving us layered compositions of silhouettes, ripples, and reflections. Back in Hoi An’s Old Town, we shift to street photography, working with color, textures, and daily rhythms of the market.

Afternoon

We drive to Tam Thanh, where the pace slows and rice fields replace city alleys. Farmers lead buffalo, tend fields, and work in the fading light — an opportunity to practice timing and framing in open landscapes.

Night in Tam Thanh.

Afternoon

The road north takes us along the coast toward Lang Co. We pause at viewpoints before reaching the lagoon, just in time for sunset. Fishermen return in slender boats, casting nets against still water and soft golden light.

TESTIMONIALS

What Our Guests Say.

Our tours are more than just photography trips—they’re immersive journeys filled with authentic encounters, meaningful connections, and unforgettable experiences. Participants leave with more than just incredible images; they gain new perspectives and lasting memories. Here is a sample of what past participants have to say about their experience with us.

Truly a Trip of a Lifetime.

I recently returned from two tours with Arnaud and his wonderful wife – North Vietnam Ethnic Trails and Central Vietnam – Life by the Coast. I can’t say enough good things about my trip! It was an incredible experience, and much of this is because Vietnam and its people are simply lovely….but mostly it was because Arnaud went out of his way to make sure the trip was wonderful! Every detail was attended to — even before the trip! Arnaud was so patient in helping me make my travel arrangements and then on the trip he made sure our travel, lodging, and experiences were seamless. His gift for photography is amazing – and he will do whatever it takes to help you improve your own work – at whatever level you may be.

Because of Arnaud’s incredible knowledge of Vietnam and extensive research into photographic locations, sites to see, and people to visit, the trip was truly one of a lifetime! I feel like I stepped off of the typical tourist path into the real country and its people. The whole trip was magical and I can’t recommend Arnaud’s tours enough.

This trip was an amazing journey — one that will stay with me forever. Thank you, Arnaud!

Amy P – Albany, NY

An unforgettable 5-day photography journey in Central Vietnam.

Joining Arnaud’s photography workshop in Central Vietnam was, without a doubt, one of the most enriching and memorable experiences I’ve ever had. From start to finish, everything was masterfully curated – not only in terms of photography, but in every detail of the journey itself.

Arnaud’s dedication, passion, and deep knowledge shine through in every moment. The locations we visited were far from touristic areas and authentic, often at just the right time for magical light and genuine local interactions. It’s clear that this experience is the result of years of refining, planning, and building meaningful connections with communities. Nothing felt forced – it all unfolded with a natural rhythm that allowed us to be fully present and creative.

Every day started before dawn – waking up for sunrise shoots became second nature. We photographed fishermen returning from a night at sea, wandered through muddy lagoons, documented the vibrant chaos of a beachside fish market, photographed the workers on luscious green paddy fields, immersed ourselves in the colors and energy of local food markets. These weren’t staged or touristic encounters – they were real, grounded in daily life, and beautifully human.

Arnaud has a gift for teaching – sharing his knowledge with clarity, patience, and a great sense of humor. He motivated us to rise at 3:30 a.m. with a smile, and somehow made it feel completely worth it. He also took the time to review my photos and shared valuable tips and insights.

One of the most beautiful aspects of this workshop is the human connection. Arnaud fosters a sense of camaraderie that goes beyond photography.

This wasn’t just a workshop – it was a journey filled with creativity, laughter, inspiration, and a genuine connection to Vietnam’s people, landscapes, and rhythms of life. I leave not only with better technical skills and a fresh perspective on photography, but also with a heart full of gratitude.

If you’re even slightly considering this experience – go for it. It’s truly one of a kind.

Thank you Arnaud,
~Justyna
